Whether you were raised in the Church, or if you are just a seeker looking for God’s love, you have a place with us. Everyone is welcome. Come join us in Praise!
At Mt. Washington Baptist Church, we hope we can make every Sunday meaningful, whether you attend in person or online.
Our worship enjoys a combination of traditional and contemporary music:
– Our praise team leads contemporary Christian music and praise choruses with overhead projection of the lyrics.
– Our chancel choir focus on a wide variety of sacred music including classical, spiritual, hymn arrangements and some contemporary pieces.
Children can attend “children’s church” during part of the service. We provide nursery care for infants up through age four if you choose to not keep your children with you.
Before or after worship, please stop by our Welcome Center located right outside our worship center … to ask questions, pick up a brochure, or a free Bible.
Core Beliefs
God is one, revealed in three eternal persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is the holy creator who loves us faithfully and dwells in us spiritually in a covenant relationship. (Ephesians 1:3-14)
Eternal Life is a gift we receive by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Jesus has commanded us to share the message of eternal life with the world. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe that the Bible is God’s truth to teach, encourage, correct and help people receive eternal life. We share with others what we learn from God’s word. (Hebrews 4:12, II Timothy 2:2, 3:14-17)
The church is a household of spiritually gifted people, serving each other and the world, to bring honor and glory to Jesus who is the head through evangelism. (Ephesians 3:21, 4:11-16, Matthew 28:19-20)
Worship is the heart’s sacrificial response to all God is, all God says and all God has done. (Psalm 100, John 4:24, Romans 12:1-2, I Corinthians 14:26)
Prayer releases God’s power to transform lives for His purpose and to deepen our relationship with Him and our fellowship with one another in spiritual unity. (John 15:7-8, James 5:13, Matthew 14:22-23, I John 1:6-7)
Christian baptism is by immersion in water in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and by a public confession of faith and repenting of sins. (Acts 2:38, 10:47-48, Matthew 28:18-19)
All have sinned and are unholy in the eyes of God. To enjoy everlasting life with our LORD we must all accept Jesus by confession and repentance, forsaking our sin. (Romans 3:23, 8:1, 5:8, 6:23, 6:11-14, John 3:4, 5:11-12 )
Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper, is a memorial meal with bread and fruit of the vine symbolizing the broken body and blood of Christ which was shed for our sins. (Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
We are saved not by good works we have done, but according to God’s grace through the renewing of our minds by the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in the temple of our body and to unify and equip believers for ministry. (Ephesians 4:1-6, Titus 3:5, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Romans 12:1-2, John 15:26, 16:13)
Family was created by God through marriage between a man and a woman. Children are an integral part of God’s family plan. (Genesis 1:26, 2:21-24, 3:16)
Core Values
We will love God with all of our heart, soul, strength and mind.
We are called to bring people into God’s forever family by sharing the gift of eternal life.
We are to learn, apply and reproduce God’s Word in our lives.
The Church is to be a growing family, made up of households, serving in relationships.
We are to offer worship from our hearts, sacrificially, as a gift to God.
By prayer we experience transformation and healing in ourselves and others as we pray through the Spirit in Jesus’ name.
We practice fellowship with Jesus that brings us into small groups with our brothers and sisters in the church, and into mission with our community and around the world.
